It's time to get ready for the Children's Hospital Softball Co-Ed Tournament at Winged Deer Park. This year's tournament will be held Monday to Wednesday, Oct. 12-14. The tournament has been moved up earlier in the week to be more accommodating to everyone involved.
The games will start after work on Monday with the final teams fighting it out on Tuesday. Wednesday will be used as a rain-out day, or the final day if we too many teams to complete the tournament in two days. Team photos will be taken Monday night, and some fun activities will be available for kids and family members! We will be accepting monetary donations to help pay our expenses, but also to help raise money for Niswonger Children's Hospital. If you are interested in joining in on the fun we would love to have any team member who wants to participate.
Please email Laken Fritz (email@example.com) if you are interested in getting a team together to participate in the tournament, or if you are an individual looking for a team, by Friday, Sept. 25. Laken will give you a roster to fill out, and a copy of the rules. T-shirts must be ordered by the end of September to get them back in time for the tournament.
The tournament is for Mountain States team members. It was started in 2005 to raise funds to aid in the construction of a region children's hospital at JCMC, originally called The Children's Hospital at Johnson City Medical Center, and it contributed to the creation of Niswonger Children's Hospital.
