Niswonger Signature Events

Because children are growing and developing, children's health care needs are constantly changing.  They need health care that is tailored to their unique needs, involves their parents from start to finish and is provided in places designed to be kid-sized and child-friendly.  That's why the children of Southern Appalachia need Niswonger Children's Hospital.

This hospital was designed to provide for the unique needs of children and combines compassionate, personalized care with state-of-the-art technology.  Niswonger Children's Hospital is dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to high-quality, cost-effective health care services.

The region's first-ever Radiothon to support Niswonger Children's Hospital finished on a high note, with fundraising surpassing the $100,000 goal.  Local radio stations 98.5 WTFM, 95.9 The Hog, Classic Hits 102.7, FM 94 WMEV and WKPT Radio teamed up with the Mountain States Foundation to take pledges from individuals and businesses to support the region's only children's hospital.

After raising more than $100,000 during the first Niswonger Children’s Hospital Radiothon in 2013, Mountain States Foundation will host the second annual radiothon March 3 & 4, 2014, along with local radio stations 98.5 WTFM, 95.9 The Hog, Classic Hits 102.7, FM94! WMEV and ESPN Radio TriCities. Pledges from individuals and businesses, along with fundraisers by regional retail sponsors will help support the region’s only children’s hospital through this fun event.

A bonus highlight of the 2013 Niswonger Children’s Hospital Golf Classic included a concert by Darius Rucker at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Greeneville, Tenn., on June 23, 2013, the day before celebrities and local golfers teamed up to compete at The Virginian Golf Club in Bristol, Va.  A V.I.P. ParTee before the concert kicked off the annual event which hosted the biggest celebrity roster yet including NFL stars Jason Witten and Dan Marino and Tennessee Vols legends Bruce Pearl and Phillip Fulmer.  The tournament raised nearly $700,000 to support the children’s hospital. Watch for details about the next Niswonger Children's Hospital Golf Classic schedule for June 29 & 30, 2014.
